19 Dec Eggnog Donuts with Bourbon Butter & Spiced Sugar, for Lark & Linen
THERE’S LESS THAN ONE WEEK UNTIL CHRISTMAS!!! Can you even stand it?! I’ve got all kinds of prep left to do — gift shopping and wrapping and baking and decorating, etc. etc. etc — so I’m just stopping by to say Hi! and share my most recent guest post for Lark & Linen.
No lie, these Eggnog Donuts are my favorite thing I’ve made all month. Probably even longer than that.
Here’s how it goes. They bake up fluffy and golden brown, bursting with wonderfully festive spiced eggnog flavor. Then we get a little naughty and brush them with with bourbon-spiked butter. Yes, you read right. Bourbon. In butter. For breakfast. (It’s totally worth the lumps of coal in your stocking.) Then since bourbon butter acts as the perfect glue, they get a dip in cinnamon and nutmeg spiced sugar. For texture, of course. These things are important.
The result is the best Christmas breakfast of all time, ever. Or dessert. These guys definitely double as both. What the hell, go ahead and eat them for lunch, too.
Head on over to Lark & Linen for the full post and recipe, and have a fantastic weekend!
